NANOCARD is an interdisciplinary team working at the interface of nanomaterials, redox biology and cardiovascular medicine, bringing together postdoctoral researchers, doctoral students and international collaborators across nanomaterials synthesis, vascular biology and translational biomedical engineering.
Cardiovascular nanoscientist working at the interface of nanomaterials, redox chemical biology and biomedical engineering. He leads NANOCARD in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine, Radcliffe Department of Medicine, University of Oxford, and is a Fellow of Kellogg College. His group develops nitric oxide-releasing nanomedicines for cardiovascular repair, redox- and pH-responsive drug carriers, platforms for real-time imaging of nitric oxide in cells, and next-generation cardiovascular implants with controlled, stimulus-responsive release.
Our researchers work across nanomaterials synthesis, vascular biology and translational biomedical engineering, supported by funding from the British Heart Foundation, the Wellcome Trust, the Royal Society, UK Research and Innovation and international partners.
Nitric oxide-releasing nanomedicines for endothelial dysfunction.
Oxford Profile →Nitric oxide-releasing nanomedicines for vascular inflammation.
Former members of the group whose work has contributed to our programme in cardiovascular nanomedicine.
We welcome enquiries from talented researchers who wish to work at the interface of nanomaterials, redox biology and cardiovascular therapeutics. Prospective DPhil students interested in cardiovascular nanomedicine, biomaterials or redox biology are encouraged to get in touch, as are postdoctoral researchers applying for independent fellowships or looking to join ongoing projects.
Please email a CV and a brief description of your research interests. We currently have three fully funded DPhil projects on offer — see the news page for details and deadlines.
