We develop next-generation cardiovascular therapeutics — intelligent, nitric oxide-releasing nanomedicines that navigate complex biological environments, respond to pathophysiological stimuli and restore vascular homeostasis.
We advance nanomaterial-enabled cardiovascular medicine as a platform for solving unmet clinical challenges; coupling materials design, redox chemical biology and device engineering to accelerate solutions in vascular healing, targeted delivery and real-time diagnosis. Our group cultivates an environment where rigorous science and bold ideas converge.

A cardiovascular nanoscientist working at the interface of nanomaterials, redox chemical biology and biomedical engineering. His work focuses on nitric oxide-releasing nanomedicines for cardiovascular repair, redox-responsive drug carriers, real-time imaging of NO in cells, and next-generation cardiovascular implants, in the Radcliffe Department of Medicine at the University of Oxford.
We have three DPhil projects on offer through the BHF Oxford Centre of Research Excellence and the BHF Oxford–Cambridge VascularRewind Programme. Applications close 1 December 2026.
